A company known as Fidi Global is encouraging Colombians to collectively fund what would be the country's tallest building. At 66 stories tall, the mixed-use building, BD Bacatá, will cost an estimated COP432 billion (US$240 million), which Fidi hopes to partially raise through the "crowdfund."

"After an extensive advertising campaign on billboards, radio, and TV, more than 3,000 people have invested in a share in the building and raised over $145 million so far," according to The Atlantic Cities.

Fidi Global has reportedly already used this approach to fund clubs, hotels and malls.
