A window fell from the 36th floor of an under-construction high-rise in Vancouver's Yaletown. Thursday The large window pane plummeted to the street and landed on top of a Dodge Intrepid.

The driver had exited the vehicle moments earlier and no one was injured.

Neighboring province Ontario recently passed a series of regulations to address incidents of falling glass in the province.

Another window fell from the construction site just two weeks earlier, according to the area's residents.

Onni, the company building the high-rise, admits it has received complaints before about falling debris at the site but said Thursday’s incident is an “isolated event,” the Province reported.

“It is an extremely rare occurrence that something like this happens on a construction site and we are taking this matter very seriously,” Onni spokesman Chris Evans said in a statement. “We’re thankful no one was injured.”

Inspectors have put a stop work order on all window installation at the site. The rest of construction is moving forward.
