The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) Zoo has proposed a cheeky change to London's Gherkin. In order to promote its Penguin Beach exhibit, the zoo has designed an enormous Humboldt penguin image to cover the building’s facade.
The zoo hopes that enormous penguin image on the 30 St. Mary Axe would provide a whimsical nature to the skyline of London and encourage people to visit the zoo.
“We know it’s audacious, but let’s be honest–penguins are a lot more interesting than gherkins,” said zoo spokesperson Emma Edwards.
(For the record, a gherkin is a type of pickle.)
