Plans for London's tallest student-residential tower, The Quill, were approved by the city last week, after three years of a series of overturned decisions and protests. The tower will be 109 meters tall (358 feet) and it will be built next to The Shard.

Protesters objected to the tower's height, even though it is only a third of the height of its 306-meter (1,004-foot) neighbor.

Both the High Court and the Court of Appeal supported the construction of the tower.
