A 42-story tower proposed for Ottawa’s Little Italy district would be the tallest building in the city. Although the developer has not announced a height, the Claridge Icon would be 42 stories tall and surpass the current tallest building in the city, the 112-meter Place de Ville.
The project still has to be approved by the Ottawa City Council and may face opposition from local residents in the predominantly low-rise neighborhood.
"Historically this has been a neighborhood of small houses," local representative Diane Holmes told CTV Ottawa.
