As the 1928 promotional brochure for The Penobscot Building declared, the finest materials and state-of-the-art construction were used in an effort to express man’s progress and Detroit’s great destiny. At its completion it was the eighth tallest building in the world and remained Detroit’s tallest building for nearly 50 years.
