CTBUH is pleased to announce the publication of the CTBUH 2014 Shanghai Conference Report. This full-color, 84-page report covers the complete experience of the four-day conference, held in Shanghai on the theme of “Future Cities: Sustainable Vertical Urbanism.”

CTBUH height criteria was used by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Geodetic Survey to determine the true architectural height of the Washington Monument, 554 feet, 7 and 11/32 inches tall.

First Composite Megacolumns Test a Big Success
The large research team working on the “Study on the constructability and the engineering properties of composite megacolumns” research project, funded by ArcelorMittal, gathered on February 5th in Beijing at CABR to start the test campaign on the first megacolumn samples.

January 18th, 2015 marked the culmination of a semester of intense work for the students and tutors involved in “Network-3D – Tall Buildings as Extensions of Urban Infrastructure and Vitality,” a collaborative design studio undertaken by CAUP at Tongji University, with assistance from CTBUH and KPF.
