Best Tall Buildings 2008 Book
To celebrate this year’s CTBUH Award winners, the Council has published this 128 page book in conjunction with publisher Elsevier / Architectural Press. The book profiles the winning buildings and honorable nominees in writing, photographs and drawings.

Shanghai World Financial Center named ‘Best Tall Building Overall’ at CTBUH Awards Dinner, Nov. 20
Also recognized were the New York Times Building, 51 Lime Street and the Bahrain World Trade Center. Lifetime  Awards went to Cesar Pelli and William Baker at a dinner attended by 240 people.

Nakheel Tower   Oct. 2008

Nakheel Harbour and Tower: Tallest Building Under Construction in the World
Nakheel have announced they are constructing a tower over a kilometer tall with over 200 floors. Although the exact height is unknown, foundation work has already commenced, making the tower the tallest building under construction in the world.

  David Scott, CTBUH Chairman and Antony Wood, CTBUH Executive Director will be presenting at a number of prestigious international conferences and events in the coming weeks.

Introduction of the Korean CTBUH
This new Asian branch of the CTBUH recently launched at the 2008 International Symposium on Tall Buildings in Seoul, where CTBUH Chairman David Scott presented a certificate of appreciation to Professor Kim, Sang Dae for his work in establishing this organization.

CTBUH welcomes Mori Building as a Supporting Contributor as the Shanghai World Financial Center opens for business
The building is now the tallest in the world in the categories "highest occupied floor" and "height to top of roof".

Tallest 10 Buildings Completed in 2007

Topping the list is the 333m Rose Rotana Tower in Dubai, which also becomes the world's tallest hotel-only building. Of the overall ten tallest buildings, four are located in the Middle East, four in Asia, one in North America and one in Europe.
