This pre-Congress workshop, an initiative of the Seismic Design Working Group, is open for attendance for all registered Congress delegates. Prior registration for the workshop is, however, required.

This workshop will be focused on performance based design for seismic engineering, bringing together relevant case studies and experts from around the world. In 2008, this working group released a guide that set out best practice for the seismic design of high-rise buildings for use in any seismic region of the world. It is intended that this workshop will begin the creation of a new, updated seismic guide for publication in 2013.
