Following up on the popular 7 Cities Walking Tours last winter, the CTBUH Urban Habitat / Urban Design Committee organized its biggest-ever initiative, this time covering more than twice as many cities! On September 17, at 3:00 pm, groups in 16 cities around the globe embarked on guided tours focusing on urban habitats around tall buildings.

The groups explored all kinds of spaces, ranging from plazas to pocket parks to waterfront areas, learning some of the ins and outs of urban planning, as well as some fascinating history lessons about their respective cities. Through remarkable coordination efforts, each group shared photos, videos, and live tweets during their excursions in real time.

The experiences of these tours, in addition to providing citizens of these cities with a new view on the potential of their indoor / outdoor space interaction, will also help inform a new
CTBUH Technical Guide being produced by the Committee, entitled Urban Spaces Surrounding Tall Buildings.

Each group also provided detailed reports, summarizing their itineraries, and illuminating some of the key takeaways from their journeys for us to publish, along with a fantastic array of photos and video. We have compiled the reports here for you to enjoy.
