Regional Tours

There will be an opportunity to experience other key cities in China after the Congress, to see some of the major developments happening throughout the country. Each tour – which will typically involve a two or three day stay in the city and flights either from Shanghai or your port of preference – will embrace a number of the key tall buildings either complete or under construction in the city, as well as some of the cultural sites. The tours will be led by CTBUH members / members of the Congress Regional Steering Committee.

Beijing
No trip to China is complete without experiencing the country’s capital, host of the 2008 Olympic Games and home to some of the most innovative buildings in China. Tall buildings to be visited on this tour include China World Tower, Yintai Center and the Parkview Green Fangcaodi Project. The Beijing Regional Tour is kindly organized and sponsored by Arup.

Changsha / China Broad Group
Changsha is home to the 30 story tower that was built in an amazing 15 days. During this tour delegates will get the chance to tour the factory where the prefabricated pieces are made and enjoy a night in the T30 Tower as guests of the China Broad Group.

Hong Kong & Shenzhen
Experience the magic that is vibrant Hong Kong, with a day trip out to the nearby special economic zone city of Shenzhen. Tall buildings to be included in this tour include the International Commerce Center, International Finance Center 2 and Shenzhen’s Kingkey 100. |

Nanjing
Nanjing the “Southern Capitol” has long been a national center of education, research, transport networks, and tourism. The City holds a prominent place in Chinese History and Culture and is emerging as one of China’s most robust and sustainable contemporary cities. Tall buildings to be visited on this tour include Zifeng Tower, Nanjing World Trade Center and the soon to be completed Jinao Tower. |
