No trip to China is complete without experiencing the country’s capital, host of the 2008 Olympic Games and home to some of the most innovative buildings in China. The Beijing Regional Tour is kindly organized and sponsored by:
Proposed Itinerary:
Friday, September 21
Visitors leave Shanghai on Friday evening or Saturday morning flight to Beijing (to be arranged and paid by individual).
Saturday, September 22
2:30 PM: Pickup at hotel for transport to China World Tower, the tallest building in Beijing, tour (3:00 PM start).
Afternoon (4:30 PM): Tour the Parkview Green Fangcaodi project, a new green icon in the central business district.
Evening (5:30 PM): Dinner kindly sponsored by Arup.
Sunday, September 23
Morning (8:30 AM): Pickup at hotel for transport to Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall visit (9:00 AM) to learn about the history of the immortal city (individual will need to pay ticket fee of CNY 30/person).
11:00 AM: Tour the Beijing Yintai Centre, the John Portman designed landmark that was formerly the tallest building in Beijing.
12:30 PM: Lunch kindly sponsored by China Construction First Division Group Construction & Development.
3:00 PM: Tour the Olympic Park including the famous Bird's Nest and Water Cube, icons of the 2008 Olympic Games (individual will need to pay ticket fees of CNY 80/person).
4:30 PM: Return to hotel.
Optional Tianjin Visit
Delegates who wish to can take the high speed train from the Beijing South Station for a quick 30 minute ride to visit the nearby city of Tianjin.
