Signage Inauguration
As the arbiter of tall building height, the CTBUH recognizes the global and/or local height achievements of buildings by inaugurating signboards/plaques in conjunction with building owners. To learn more about this initiative or have the Council investigate a particular building for possible recognition, contact CTBUH Headquarters.

May 2016: Signboard Inauguration

Shanghai Tower in Shanghai, China has inaugurated a CTBUH Signboard which recognizes the building as the tallest building in China and second-tallest in the world, with a height of 632 meters.

23 Marina, Dubai
March 2012: Signboard Inauguration

23 Marina in Dubai, United Arab Emirates has inaugurated a CTBUH Signboard which recognizes the building as the tallest all-residential building in the world, with a height of 393 meters.

BSA Twin Tower, Mandaluyong
February 2012: Signboard Inauguration

BSA Twin Towers in Mandaluyong, Philippines has inaugurated a CTBUH Signboard which recognizes the building as the tallest twin towers and the tallest all-residential building in the country, with a height of 216 meters.

August, 2011: Signboard Inauguration

Taipei 101, the world’s second tallest building, has inaugurated a CTBUH Signboard recognizing the significant height achievements of the building, at its recent ceremony to celebrate its environmental upgrade works which has gained LEED-Existing Building Operation and Maintenance Platinum status.

Tornado Tower, Doha
June, 2010: Signboard Completion

Doha’s Tornado Tower, winner of the 2009 Best Tall Building for Middle East and Africa, has now completed a signboard which commemorates this accomplishment and provides basic project information.

May 28, 2010: CTBUH Height Plague presented

CTBUH Communications Manager Jan Klerks handed over a height recognition plaque to OVG's Coen van Oostrom, recognizing the Maas Tower (Maastoren in Dutch) in Rotterdam as the new tallest building in the Netherlands at 165.

April 6, 2010: CTBUH Height Signboard inaugurated

On a rainy Wednesday, April 6, the CTBUH gathered with members of the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago  project team for the inauguration of the building signboard which recognizes Trump Tower's place in the international tall building world.

October 21, 2009: CTBUH Height Plaque presented

CTBUH presented a plaque to Eric Trump of the Trump Organization recognizing the Trump Tower as the tallest all-concrete building in the world, the 7th tallest building in the world, and the tallest building built in the US in the last 35 years.

CTBUH Plaques & Signboards Initiative Begun

CTBUH believes public skyscraper signs are a powerful and lasting way to inform the world about the official recognition of the achievements and merits of new and existing tall buildings. A number of tall buildings around the world have already received recogbition and have chosen to give this public expression.
