The area consists of mixed land use with commercial, residential and manufacturing activities operating within close proximity
.

Dharavi

India’s largest slum, Dharavi, lies on prime property right in the middle of India's financial capital, Mumbai (Bombay). It is home to more than a million people. A city within a city, it is one unending stretch of narrow dirty lanes, open sewers and cramped huts. As Dharavi is located between Mumbai's two main suburban rail lines, most people find it convenient for work.

Kanchanjunga

In Mumbai, a building has to be oriented east-west to catch prevailing sea breezes and to open up the best views of the city. Unfortunately, these are also the directions of the hot sun and the heavy monsoon rains. The old bungalows solved these problems by wrapping a protective layer of verandas around the main living areas.

Cultural Tour of South Mumbai

Mumbai, a melting pot of cultures, pulsates with activity. India’s financial powerhouse and also the capital of Maharashtra, Mumbai dazzles the visitor with its glitzy Victorian architecture, shopping centres, exciting Bollywood, theatre and music culture, gourmet restaurants and interesting sightseeing.  This gigantic metropolis also boasts of a well networked transport system.
