Strategies for Performance in the Aftermath of the World Trade Center
Kuala Lumpur, 20 - 23 October, 2003
|This conference, organized jointly by the CTBUH, CIB (Council on Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, took place in Kuala Lumpur, the city that then held the title of containing the World’s Tallest Buildings – the Petronas Towers. This was one of the first key gatherings of tall building professionals following the events of September 11th, and thus the conference theme “Strategies for Performance in the Aftermath of the World Trade Centre” was especially relevant.
Keynote presentations included Gene Corley’s initial investigation into the collapse of the WTC, a review of the Evacuation Procedures of the Petronas Towers by Arlida Ariff and a paper entitled “Evacuation of the WTC: What Went Right?” by Guylene Proulx.
