The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat – the world’s leading body in the field of tall buildings – will be holding its 2009 Conference in Chicago, the home of the skyscraper. Drawing on the experience of the past 40 years of organizing the world’s premier tall building conferences, the Chicago conference will be the primary gathering of all those involved in the inception, design, construction and operation of tall buildings internationally. The very highest caliber of speakers and delegates, combined with the breadth of the Council’s international network, will ensure that sponsors of this event will receive maximum exposure to promote their message to the global construction community. In addition, the theme of the conference – the challenges to tall buildings posed by both the world-wide economic recession and global climate change – will foster a high-level of interest from organizations internationally.

With 125 years of skyscraper history, the city has in the past decade witnessed a resurgence of both tall building construction and sustainable development, and has tall projects planned and under construction at all stages in the development cycle.
