2012 Awards Dinner & Symposium - Register Here

The CTBUH 2012 Award Winners will be recognized and awards conferred at the CTBUH 11th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner, organized in conjunction with the Illinois Institute of Technology. All of the winning projects and finalists will be celebrated at this gala event, as well as the 2012 CTBUH Fellows. Additionally from the four regional Best Tall Building winners, one "Worldwide" winner will be chosen and announced to close out the Dinner event.

The Ceremony & Dinner will be preceded by a free Awards Symposium which will feature presentations from all of the 2012 winners as well as some finalists. Join us to hear from senior representatives of these ground breaking projects, as well as from the 2012 CTBUH Lifetime Achievement Award winners who have influenced the tall building profession for decades.

The CTBUH 2012 Awards Exhibition, showcasing poster presentations of the winning projects and finalists, will also be open for viewing during the Awards Symposium in IIT Hermann Hall's Gallery Lounge.

Symposium Program & Speakers

This year, the Awards Symposium will feature nine presentations. Hear from senior representatives of the client and design team from each of the four regional Best Tall Building winners, the new CTBUH Innovation Award winner, and select finalists. In addition, Helmut Jahn, winner of the Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award, and partners Charles Thornton & Richard Tomasetti, joint winners of the Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal will present.


Tickets & Sponsorship

Awards Symposium attendance is free of charge, but registration is required, due to limited seating at the venue. Priority seating will be given to Awards Ceremony/Dinner attendees. VIP and Executive table sponsorships are available for the Awards Ceremony/Dinner, as well as individual dinner tickets.


Venue

The Symposium, Ceremony & Dinner is being held on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. The Symposium will be held at the Hermann Hall Auditorium. The
Ceremony & Dinner will be held at Mies van der Rohe's iconic Crown Hall (located a short walking distance from the Symposium venue).

Continuing Education

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat is a registered AIA/CES provider. Attendees can accumulate up to 4.5 total hours of Continuing Education Credits at the free Awards Symposium. All sessions qualify for Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) and Sustainable Design credits. A Certificate of Completion will be provided to registrants upon request

CTBUH Awards Book Publication

Award winners and finalists are featured in the annual CTBUH Awards Book, which highlights each project in writing, photographs and drawings. The 2012 Awards Book is published in conjunction with Taylor & Francis. After premiering at the Awards Ceremony & Dinner, where it is distributed complimentary to all dinner attendees, it is then sold in bookstores around the globe.

The Council has been issuing awards since the 2002 1st Annual Awards Ceremony in which CTBUH Founder Lynn S. Beedle was recognized as the first recipient of the Lynn S. The Council issues Best Tall Building awards annually re
cognizing excellence in tall building design and construction and individual's lifetime achievement. The Awards Committee panel, made up of an interdisciplinary, international group of leading professionals, select the winners based on the established Awards Criteria.
