The CTBUH 2011 award winners will be recognized and awards conferred at the CTBUH 10th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner. All of the winning projects and finalists will be celebrated at this gala event. Additionally from the four regional best tall building winners, one "Worldwide" winner will be chosen and announced to close out the Dinner event.

The Ceremony & Dinner will be preceded by a free afternoon Symposium which will feature presentations from all the 2011 winners. Join us to hear from senior representatives of these ground breaking projects, as well as from the two CTBUH Lifetime Achievement award winners who have influenced the tall building profession for decades.

Symposium Program & Speakers

For the second year, there will be six presentations during the Symposium. Hear from senior representatives of the client and design team from each of the four regional Best Tall Building winners. In addition, Adrian Smith, winner of the Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award, and Dr. Akira Wada, winner of the Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal, whose careers have influenced the tall building profession for decades, will present.


Tickets & Sponsorship

Attendance for the Symposium is free of charge, though Awards Ceremony/Dinner attendees will receive priority booking. VIP and Executive table sponsorships are available for the Awards Ceremony/Dinner, as well as individual dinner tickets.


Venue

The Symposium, Ceremony & Dinner is being held on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago, IL. The Symposium will be held at the Hermann Hall Auditorium, and the
Ceremony & Dinner will be held at Mies van der Rohe's iconic Crown Hall (located a short walking distance from the Symposium venue).

Continuing Education

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat is a registered AIA/CES provider. Attendees can accumulate up to three total hours of Continuing Education Credits at the free afternoon Symposium. All sessions qualify for Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) and Sustainable Design credits. A Certificate of Completion will be provided to registrants upon request

CTBUH Awards Book Publication

Award winners and finalists are featured in the annual CTBUH Awards Book, which highlights each project in writing, photographs and drawings. The 2011 Awards Book is published in conjunction with Taylor & Francis. After premiering at the Awards Ceremony & Dinner, where it is distributed complimentary to all dinner attendees, is then sold in bookstores around the globe.

The Council has been issuing awards since the 2001 1st Annual Awards Ceremony in which CTBUH Founder Lynn S. Beedle was recognized as the first recipient of the Lynn S. cognizing excellence in tall building design and construction and individual's lifetime achievement. The Awards Committee panel, made up of an interdisciplinary, international group of leading professionals, select the winners based on the established Awards Criteria.
