This year’s flagship event, will explore progress in the Net Zero Building movement and how the approach can be scaled up to create net zero cities both within the UAE and globally.
In 2017, EmiratesGBC launched a pioneering study assessing the market readiness for net zero energy buildings in the UAE and provided a local definition for Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEBs). To drive forward the conversation, we aim to bring together international & regional experts and stakeholders to discuss the role of net zero in achieving sustainable built environments in line with UAE Vision 2021 and the objectives of the Paris COP21 Climate Agreement.
The congress takes inspiration from the Year of Zayed which celebrates the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision for human development and his belief in investing in infrastructure to improve the UAE’s social and economic outcomes and quality of life for its people. Each session will look to the values championed by Sheikh Zayed and how they can be leveraged to create net zero cities for the benefit of the UAE and humanity.
