2018 Global Walking Tour – Walking on Water: Paris

Itinerary: ZAC des Batignolles
  • 1:30 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.: Presentation of the 1/500 model to understand the history of the Clichy-Batignolles development and its key steps, its program in connection with all the surroundings, its localization in Paris and the public transportations in the neighborhood, and also all the sustainable development components integrated in the program (energy, biodiversity, geothermal energy and water management, air quality and new perspectives such as smart grid, shared spaces, shared city).
  • 2:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Visit in the Martin Luther King Park and walk through the 360° panoramic viewpoint to see all the operations: presentation of the operations completed, the green terrace, the ongoing development to the west side of the ZAC, the connection between the city and the park, the future Cité du Théâtre.
Paris Courthouse
  • 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.: Presentation of the project from the park’s viewpoint: its history (why a new courthouse), the main elements of the programme, the competition and the partnership with Bouygues, the key elements of the design (step profile, green terraces…), the construction.
  • 3:45 p.m. - 4;30 p.m.: Walk through the park to the courthouse’s parvis: details about the façade (double skin, stores), the photovoltaic panels, the panoramic elevator, the parvis and its symbolic, and also some elements about the interior of the building (the big atrium and its main features, the courtrooms, the offices) and the material used.
