We are excited to invite you to our first event of 2017! This event will be divided in three parts:

PART 1 - 20 min

We will be honored by the presence of Tim Johnson, CTBUH Vice Chairman and partner in the global architecture and design firm NBBJ. Tim will present the CTBUH and its work.

PART 2 - 30 min
We will present the CTBUH research project, “A Study on the Damping Technologies Available for Tall Buildings: Comfort and Safety.”

This project received funding from Bouygues Construction. The research activity will be summarized in a CTBUH Technical Guide and will become a primary reference text that guides designers in choosing the most suitable damping systems for their projects. The guide will also provide recommendations on the use of damping systems.

The presentation will be done by Andre Ly, from the structure department of Paris, and involved in this research.

PART 3 - 10 min
We will give details about the 2017 CTBUH International Student Tall Building Design Competition for students interested in participating. The goal of the competition is to shed new light on the meaning and value of tall buildings in modern society.
