Creating Real Estate Out of Thin Air: Building Over the Hudson Rail Yards

Hudson Yards, in the heart of Manhattan, is literally creating real estate out of thin air. The Long Island Railroad's Westside Storage Yards has defined the southern end of Hell's Kitchen for decades.

Now that New York has taken the plunge, what lessons can be learned from the Hudson Yards experience that can apply to development over the rail yards at 30th Street Station, right here in Philadelphia?

Traveling through 150+ years of site history, the seminar will explore the vision for the area, and review the technial challenges of making it a reality.

Speakers: Andrew Werner, Associate Principal, Kohn Pederson & Fox
Eli Gottleib, Senior Principal, Thornton Tomasetti
Marc Gallagher, Senior Principal, Langan Engineering
