DUBAI – On Wednesday, October 4, 2017 the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH Dubai) hosted an exclusive social event in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects (AIA Middle East), focusing on the 2017 Top Architects and Interior Designers in the Middle East. The best of the best turned out in force, including the most senior representatives from the most acclaimed and internationally recognized firms from both the architecture and ID sectors.

This CTBUH Dubai social event represents a unique coming together of A-listers and honors their contributions in shaping and interpreting our built environment. The event was attended by the most influential architects and interior designers from within the UAE, including some of our friends from the development and and hotelier community.

A chilled and relaxed atmosphere with music and canapés at the Marina Social, Intercontinental Hotel Dubai Marina, allowed the guests to enjoy their evening and reflect on their past accomplishments, while discussing plans for the future. The evening gave the attendees the opportunity to reconnect with fellow associates and communicate with peers in the industry.

Over 120 A-listers in the field of Architecture and Interior Design attended.
From left to right, Rob Shakespeare, Senior Director, Cracknell; Martin Baerschmidth, Managing Director, Edge; Paul Cracknell, Vice President, Cracknell; Brian Johnson, Principal and Managing Partner, Gaj; Christian Vasquez, Project Architect and Business Development Executive of National Engineering Bureau, NEB; Ali Alamari, OFIS; Joe Tabet, Founder and Managing Director, JT; David Lessard, Director of Hospitality, Perkins+Will

The event acknowledged the importance of interior designers in realizing the vision of the architects and the significance of the working collaboration between the architect and interior designer. Inviting the ID sector of the industry to the event aimed to reconnect two industries whose extraordinary work efforts have shaped the region in which we live.

Due to our overwhelming support from our VIP guests and sponsors (REDPATH, NORA, OFIS, ID DESIGN and National Engineering Bureau), we were able to contribute a generous donation to the
Architects Gives Back Project. Through the support of our attendees and sponsors, we have donated to three of their programs; a Feeding Program of 3 months for 100 children, a School Refurbishment Program which consists of supplying the school with electricity and fitting 36 ceiling fans to help relieve the humidity of the climate, and a monetary donation to the Cancer Warrior Foundation for kids.

So we would sincerely like to thank everyone for coming along and hope to have your continued support at all our future events.
