The Council issues seven Tall Building awards annually; two Lifetime Achievement awards and five Best Tall Building awards which recognize excellence in design and construction:

Following an open call period for nominations, the Council’s Awards Committee selects the winner of each category. The Best Tall Building Overall is selected from the four regional winners and announced at the CTBUH Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner. Winners and finalists are also featured in the annual CTBUH Awards Book, which is published in conjunction with a major international publisher and distributed internationally each year.

Awards Criteria
The CTBUH Awards recognize projects and individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, and that achieve sustainability at the highest and broadest level. The projects must also exhibit processes and/or innovations that have added to the profession of design and enhance the cities and the lives of their inhabitants...more

Submission Process
The Council typically initiates its Call for Awards in the month of March each year. This begins an open nomination period where companies can submit their projects or colleagues for consideration for a CTBUH Award by completing the nomination forms. The nomination period closes at the end of April, at which time the Awards Committee begins deliberating on the entries received...more

Awards Committee
The CTBUH Jury is typically made up of six individual jurors under the direction of the Awards Committee Chair (who serves a term of up to three years). The Council strives to maintain a multidisciplinary and geographically-spread jury makeup in which each jury member brings a unique and varied perspective on the nominees and allows for a global perspective in the judgment process...more
