Students are encouraged to bring their ideas, design projects, and questions for discussion with up-and-coming professionals.
“The workshop is a great opportunity to meet with professionals who are moving up in their careers, but not that far removed from the university experience,” said Committee Chair Sergio Valentini, project architect at Murphy/Jahn.
A presentation during the workshop will focus on the design and construction of Aqua, one of the newest and most innovative towers in Chicago. Several members of the Young Professionals committee worked on the project.
Members of the committee also will be available to address industry trends and the prospects for finding a job in the current market, as well as the student’s studio projects.
The free event will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Crown Hall.
This workshop is the first event organized by the CTBUH Young Professionals Committee, which hopes to establish a series of similar events for Chicago’s architecture and engineering students.
