While much research is currently being undertaked in the field of tall buildings, there does however seem to be a genuine absence of communication and collaboration between those involved. The opportunities for such networking and collaboration are significant. The identification of research gaps, joint applications for research funding bids, support, discussion and possible collaboration on research projects and publications are just a few of the many advantages.
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat is the perfect organization to facilitate the networking and collaboration between those involved in the research of tall buildings at both an academic and industrial level, or those who are looking to move into this field.
Construction of tall buildings in excess of 200m in height has become increasingly common and mega foundation systems are generally required to safely support the large lateral and vertical building loads and to control total and differential movements of the foundation.
