Dr. Gene Corley was Senior Vice-President of the
CTL Group and conducted nationally recognized research related to bridges, buildings, railroads and engineering uses of concrete.

Dr. Corley chaired the committee that wrote much of strength design for concrete that was the basis of previous versions of
AASHTO Bridge Specifications, and chaired the ACI Committee 318 on Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete. He had wide international experience in consulting related to earthquake resistant structures, blast resistant structures, bridge design and construction and was Principal Investigator for FEMA on the Oklahoma Bombing Building Performance Assessment Team, Team Leader for World Trade Centers Building Performance Assessment Team and expert advisor during the investigation and trial resulting from the 1993 fatal fire at the Branch Davidian complex in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Corley’s teaching experience included advanced structural design at the
University of Wisconsin at Madison Extension, concrete slab design at the University of Illinois, earthquake resistant design for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, reinforced concrete design for the American Concrete Institute, a seismic design refresher course for the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois
and a FHWA Bridge Engineering Training Course. He also wrote more than 170 books and papers.
