Paul James, with over 35 years of construction expertise, has been an integral member of the Bovis Lend Lease Chicago office since 1989.
Paul is an expert in value engineering, and has exceptional skills in determining costs from the conceptual phase of a project through to 100% construction documents.
As Senior Vice President and Director of Technical Services, Paul manages a team of estimators, value engineers, and schedulers who provide design phase services including estimating and budget control, development of procurement criteria, schedules, and constructability and logistics planning. Additionally, he often partners with the other Bovis Lend Lease Technical Services Directors to provide national oversight and collaboration on preconstruction services.
Over the years, Paul has been involved in countless projects that have helped reshape the landscape of the Chicagoland area, including Trump International Hotel & Tower, Hyatt Center, 155 North Wacker, 111 South Wacker, One Museum Park East and West, 340 on the Park, The Clare at Water Tower, Water Tower Place, One Mag Mile, and Presidential Towers. This experience has allowed Paul to serve as the US representative on the Bovis Lend Lease Global High Rise Community of Practice.
Paul James has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He has been a member of the American Concrete Institute since 1983.
