CTBUH Affiliated Organizations

In addition to its formal Memberships, the Council is affiliated with a number of significant organizations around the world. These companies often work in collaboration with the CTBUH in the planning and delivery of events and other initiatives.

American Institute of Architects
Based in Washington, D.C., the AIA has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners in the US since 1857. The CTBUH is an official AIA CES provider and have a strong relationship with the organization.


American Institute of Steel Construction

AISC, headquartered in Chicago, is a not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States.


American Society of Civil Engineers

Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 140,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide and is America's oldest national engineering society.

Australian Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat

Founded in the 1990's, the ACTBUH is the Australian Chapter of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. The ACTBUH is an active chapter, and regularly holds seminars.

Center for Asian Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat

The Centre for Asian Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CATBUH) was established in 1997 with membership drawn from professional, academic and industry circles.


Chicago Committee on High-Rise Buildings

The CCHRB is a not-for-profit organization, founded to investigate problems or enhancements, support research and disseminate information for economic design, construction, operation and rehabilitation of high rise buildings.

Continental Automated Buildings Association

The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) is North America's only industry association dedicated to providing information, education and networking opportunities relating to home and building automation.



Deep Foundations Institute

For over thirty years, DFI has gathered professionals in the deep foundations sector of the construction industry, to create a place for discussion, inquiry and debate.

Dutch Council on Tall Buildings

The Dutch Council on Tall Buildings is an active foundation which organizes knowledge and networks about tall buildings and related topics in the Netherlands.


Japan Iron and Steel Federation

The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) was established in  1948. It is a nationwide representative body of the Japanese steel industry and its members consist of the country's major iron and steel industry companies.

Los Angeles Tall Buildings Structural Design Council

The Los Angeles Tall Buildings Structural Design Council, formed in 1988, is a nonprofit organization whose members are those individuals who have demonstrated exceptional professional accomplishments in the structural design.



National Council of Structural Engineers Associations

NCSEA was formed to constantly improve the level of standard of practice of the structural engineering profession throughout the United States, and to provide an identifiable resource for those needing communication with the profession.



Tall Building Teaching and Research Group

The Tall Buildings Teaching and Research Group, founded formally in 2004, brings together international experts in the field of Tall Building design, construction and management, across both practice and academia.
